True global connection opportunities with Skype’s latest ‘teaser’

Today’s blog post is short and sweet.

I wanted to share the latest BIG THING in my world as an educator.

As you have read on my blog before, I love global connections and see huge benefit with integrating these opportunities across all curriculum areas. That is why I use global collaborative tools such as Mystery Skype (please click here to read more about Mystery Skype).

Recently Skype announced its latest update –> Skype Translator App!!! And what a ground-breaking update it is! Basically, this new app translates a Skype call, in real-time, so that you can engage with people that you do not share a common language with – AMAZING and I can see hundreds of uses for it in my classroom immediately!!!


Not only does this improve opportunities to connect globally but continues to break down barriers that stop people connecting and learning outside of their comfort zone. Here is a video summarising the amazing new app:

Although this is still in ‘preview’ mode, the opportunities are endless and I am excited to see the unveiling of the full version app soon!
