An inspirational interview with educator extraordinaire Steve Wheeler

Yesterday I had the privilege of chatting with Steve Wheeler (@timbuckteeth), an inspirational member of my PLN and an inspiration for thousands of other educators around the world. I met Steve several years ago after his Keynote at ULearn conference in New Zealand and was instantly inspired. We connected and now we collaborate frequently online. Steve describes himself as a ‘disruptive activist’ which he explains throughout this eye-opening interview.

Throughout our discussion Steve discusses innovation and inspiration. He discusses where his inspiration has come from, gives advice for educators around the world how to include innovative practice into your classroom programme. He also shared his ideas on the trends of education and gives his top 5 resources and ideas for a teacher in an innovative, 21st Century Classroom.

Get inspired, enjoy and stay connected!

  • Kia ora Steve,
Many of the aspects you speak about in this video we are using in our quest to become more and more 21st Century capable as a teaching team. This video gives us key questions in pursuit of effective use, through making, problem solving, connecting worldwide. Craig, I really like the idea of thinking about 5 things I would take into the 21st Century classroom and my list is not too different from Steves. Thank you both.
